In 1911, Marie Curie received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for her groundbreaking discoveries of radium and polonium. By 1912, she became the target of vicious gossip regarding an alleged affair with the married Frenchman Paul Langevin, which nearly erased her achievements from public view. Weakened by the media's portrayal of her as a "foreign" Jewish temptress, Marie seeks solace at the summer home of her friend and colleague, Hertha Ayrton, an electromechanical engineer and suffragette. The Half-Life of Marie Curie highlights the strength of female friendship and the resilience of these two remarkable women in the face of adversity.
