Audition Dates: In-person auditions will take place on Sunday, June 30, 2024 and Monday, July 1. 2024 at 6pm

Location: Las Vegas Little Theatre 3920 Schiff Dr. Las Vegas, NV, 89103

Performance Dates: September 6 – 22, 2024 with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 7pm and Sundays at 2pm, and Saturday Matinees on September 14 & 21 at 2pm. Rehearsal begin immediately and are held in the evenings on weekdays and some weekend afternoons.

Show Description: A brash tycoon, Harry Brock, enlists a clever journalist, Paul Verrall, to refine his ditzy girlfriend, Billie Dawn. Billie's journey from clueless to clued-in is fraught with hilarious misunderstandings, slapstick moments, and witty banter. As she blossoms into an unexpected force to be reckoned with, the comedy intensifies, with Brock's attempts to control the situation backfiring spectacularly. Inspiring the 1950’s romantic comedy by the same name, Born Yesterday will keep you rolling with uproarious antics and sharp dialogue.

Character Descriptions:

Billie Dawn (20-30s)

Stereotype Bombshell Blonde. Former Chorus girl, comes from working family but has forgotten what it is to work due to relationships as a result of her beauty.

Mrs Hedges (50-60s)

Wife of Senator Norval Hedges. Accustomed to political conversation with the elite of the ages. Product of maturing in political environment.

Helen (20-40s)

Housekeeper for the hotel. *Will also play manicurist

Harry Brock (40-50s)

Imposing, gruff, from the streets. Works hard for what he has built through intimidation and force. Very assertive and demands full attention of a room.

Paul Verrall (30-40s)

Personable, Alert, Energenic. Has tendancy to take things to seriously (and knows it). Assertive, but understands how the game is played to get what one wants.

Ed Devery (60-70s)

A bought lawyer, who let circumstance prevent him from reaching his peak. Uncaring and unafraid at this point considering he is likely the only lawyer that would have Harry Brock as a client.

Sen Norval Hedges (55-70s)

Elite Political presence. An empty man that bends to the will of whomever pushes hardest.

Eddie Brock (30-40s)

Harry's cousin and servant. The muscle in training, but still low man on the totem pole.
