cast breakdown

FRANK FOSTER  Middle aged and wealthy. Married to Fiona. Frank is blissfully unaware.  He is an incompetent fix-it freak, kind-natured and dotty, if somewhat innocent.  One of the most naïve persons in theatre history.

FIONA FOSTER  An elegant, attractive woman, younger than Frank and older than Bob. Fiona is bored and looking for something or someone to fill the void.She is having an affair with Bob.

BOB PHILLIPS  A good looking ruffian married to Teresa.  Bob is having an affair with Fiona – He enjoys the challenge.

TERESA PHILLIPS  Bob’s wife is a frustrated housewife who spends her time writing letters instead of cleaning her house and tending her child. We get the impression she is on the edge of a nervous breakdown.

WILLIAM FEATHERSTONE  William works in the same office as Bob and Frank and is considered 'safe'. He has strange hobbies and a jealous streak.

MARY FEATHERSTONE  Married to William, a bit of a recluse, submissive, afraid of everything, and allows her husband control her. She and William are stereotypical misfits.

THE AGES OF THE THREE COUPLES ARE NOT SET IN STONE.  IT WILL DEPEND ON FINDING THE RIGHT BALANCE DURING CASTING.

PROPER BRITISH ACCENTS ARE A MUST.

Auditions will be mostly readings from the script. The Samuel French London Acting Edition will be used for this production.

A picture and resume are not required to audition, but please bring one if you have it.
